our promise

The building sector is the single largest consumer of energy in our nation. We understand this incredible responsibility, and use design as a tool to conserve our precious resources. The planet is viewed as a client, one that we must always listen to and cater to in order to secure a more sustainable future benefitting our clients, our communities and our entire planet.

The organizing principle for sustainability is sustainable development, which includes the four interconnected domains – ecology, economics, politics and culture. Sustainable development is development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs – Brundtland Commission: 1987.

Sustainability development consists of three components:

Architecture

Sustainable architecture attempts to reduce the collective environmental impacts during the production of building components, during the construction process, as well as during the lifecycle of the building (heating, electricity use, carpet cleaning etc.).

Design

Sustainable design (also called environmental design, environmentally sustainable design, environmentally conscious design, etc.) is the philosophy of designing physical objects, the built environment, and services to comply with the principles of social, economic, and ecological sustainability.

Green Building

Green building (also known as green construction or sustainable building) refers to a structure and using process that is environmentally responsible and resource-efficient throughout a building's life-cycle: from siting to design, construction, operation, maintenance, renovation, and demolition. This requires close cooperation of the design team, the architects, the engineers, and the client at all project stages. The Green Building practice expands and complements the classical building design concerns of economy, utility, durability, and comfort.
